How do integrations work?

We use OAuth 2.0 to securely connect to your accounting software. When you approve a document in AccountingPipe, we create the bill/expense in your accounting software using their official API. All data including line items, vendor details, and receipt images are synced automatically.

Is my data secure when integrating?

Absolutely. We use bank-level encryption and OAuth 2.0 authentication. Your accounting software credentials are never stored or accessed by us. All data transfers are encrypted using TLS 1.3. You can disconnect the integration anytime from your settings.

Can I disconnect an integration?

Yes, you can disconnect any integration anytime from your organization settings. When you disconnect, we immediately revoke the OAuth token and stop all sync operations. Your existing bills in your accounting software remain unchanged.

What accounting data syncs to my software?

We sync bills/expenses with all extracted data: vendor information, invoice numbers, dates, due dates, line items, tax amounts, categories/accounts, and the original receipt image as an attachment. We also match or create vendor/contact records automatically.

How often does data sync?

Data syncs in real-time when you approve a document. Typically, bills appear in your accounting software within 5-10 seconds. We also periodically sync vendor lists and chart of accounts to ensure matching is accurate.

Do I need a paid Xero or QuickBooks account?

Yes, you need an active subscription to Xero or QuickBooks Online to use our integration. We integrate with all Xero plans and QuickBooks Online plans (Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, and Advanced). Trial accounts are also supported.

Can I use multiple integrations at once?

Each organization can connect to one accounting platform at a time. However, if you manage multiple companies, you can create separate organizations in AccountingPipe and connect each to different accounting software.

What happens if the sync fails?

If a sync fails, we'll notify you via email and in your dashboard with details about what went wrong. Common issues include missing required fields or connectivity problems. You can retry the sync after fixing any issues. Your data in AccountingPipe is never lost.
