AccountingPipe started as a solution to our own frustration with receipt processing. Now we're helping thousands of businesses save time and eliminate manual data entry.
The Problem We Couldn't Ignore
Like many business owners, we dreaded month-end. Receipts stuffed in wallets, email inboxes overflowing with vendor invoices, and hours spent manually entering data into our accounting software. It was tedious, error-prone, and frankly, a terrible use of our time.
We tried existing solutions. Some were clunky and unreliable. Others required expensive enterprise contracts. Most importantly, none of them actually solved the problem the way we needed it solved: simply forward an email and be done with it.
So we built AccountingPipe. Not as a business idea, but as a solution to our own pain. We wanted something that would just work. No complicated workflows, no app switching, no manual data entry. Just email the receipt and move on with your day.

We knew from day one that we'd be handling sensitive financial documents. That's not something you take lightly. Security and reliability weren't afterthoughts. They were the foundation.
Our Security-First Approach
- Encrypted connections: The site is served over HTTPS
- Complete data isolation: Multi-tenant architecture with strict separation between organizations
- Privacy by design: We don't train AI models on your data. Documents are read by an AI model through OpenRouter, under the provider's commercial terms
We built AccountingPipe on Laravel and MySQL, and we keep each organization's data separate from every other organization's.

Forward receipts from your inbox, take photos on your phone, or snap pics of paper receipts. One email and you're done. No apps to open, no uploads to manage.
AI Does the Heavy Lifting
Our AI (routed through OpenRouter, currently Anthropic Claude) reads your receipts and picks out vendors, amounts, dates, line items, and tax details.
Intelligent Vendor Matching
AccountingPipe automatically matches vendors to your existing records in Xero. New vendors get enriched with additional data so your books stay clean. QuickBooks matching is coming soon.
One-Click Sync
Review the extracted data, approve it, and it syncs instantly to your accounting software. Expenses appear exactly where they need to be.
